2007 is a very exciting time for the Hilton Head Area real estate market. Never have so many buying opportunities been available to the well educated Buyer.
Over the past few years prices have risen consistently and sometimes dramatically. Then in late 2005, along with most of the country the rate of sales slowed down. This trend continued until December 2006, with the result that we start 2007 with more inventory and more buying options than ever before. During 2006 prices have softened and in some cases dropped. There are great buys available as some sellers who bought beyond their means are now stretched to their limit and are forced to sell their properties in a hurry.
If you have ever thought of buying a home in this area, now is the time. All indications are that our market has bottomed or is very close to the bottom. In real estate the golden rule is "Location, Location, Location". If you have followed the Hilton Head Area market for any time you will agree that the second rule here is, "Timing, Timing, Timing". Do not be tempted to wait for the market to drop even further because when the market turns, and it will prices may jump without warning. It has happened before! The stock market has made many Boomers and Post Boomers lots of money and they are looking for solid long term investments. Hilton Head real estate is just that investment.
